How We Got Here:

Hi! My name is Monica D'Agostino and I am a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and a Master's Degree in Dietetics. I grew up loving every single aspect of food; the flavors, the textures, the smells. I could not get enough of experimenting in the kitchen. I would spend hours mixing together different ingredients (most of the time it ended up being pretty disgusting to be honest) but I never lost sight of how much I loved to create.

I began majoring in Nutrition Sciences during my sophomore year of college. I thought being a dietitian would be the best career path for me because DUH- you get to talk about food all day (which I can totally do)! However, majoring in nutrition is not all fun and games. I had to go through extensive coursework in biology, chemistry, and metabolism. There were late nights of studying, long hours at my internship, and plenty of coffee to get me through. But the journey was amazing, necessary, and definitely paid off in the end.

Something I *did* realize during my time as a nutrition student (and as a dietitian) is that by-the-book clinical dietetics is not for me. Don't get me wrong, I thrived in a clinical setting. I could calculate tube feedings for critically ill patients, recommend the right supplements for my residents who were not eating, and chart my notes faster than most. But, it was not for me. I was missing the creative aspect of dietetics that I fell in love with in the first place.

Enter: Salt and Sage Nutrition. THIS is my passion project. THIS is how I want to reach clients, share recipes, and connect with a community of like-minded (and maybe not so like-minded) individuals who have a passion for everything wellness. I created this site to do just that.

To learn more about me, my services, my recipes, and my life- you have come to the right place. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions (
